Overcome fears

What fears have you overcome and how?

Where do I start this this topic. I have overcome so many fears it’s crazy. I used to terrified of the dark because of crazy things I experienced as a child to the point where I wouldn’t go out even to the garbage can at night. A lot of my fears were based around something bad would happen to me. Now I know that’s not going to happen. I’m still careful about where I do though.

Fear of being alone. After being married and it being crazy at times. I now love peace and quiet in fact I crave it. I’m so happy with my life and definitely not lonely at home with my dog.

I’ve overcome so many things in my life which I’m grateful for. Most of the time now I live in peace. A huge part of that is because I have the Lord in my life. I pray and read the word. I love to listen to all types of music and that grounds me so much. ❤️

       Simple things

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

I love simple things. You heard the phrase stop and smell the flowers. One of the simple things I do that bring me great joy is being able to watch a sunrise or sunset. Last night driving home from dinner the sky was amazing it had the greatest colors the clouds were dark but underneath it there was pinks and oranges blended into some purple. It was magnificent and of course driving I couldn’t just stop and take a photo.

There is something so simple at getting up early in the morning. The birds are out singing and the baby rabbits are playing out in the sun. The world seems to stand still. The clouds are out and the colors seem to blend into them with such unique colors. It brings me so much joy to my life. ❤️

        Unplugging

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

Unplugging is hard for me. I use the Internet to promote my business and do vendor events. Those weeks it’s very busy as you have to participate as well as promote. Every Sunday for over a year now I unplug on Sundays. I will check my emails in the mornings. At first it was hard and now I love it.

I find other things to do that day. I need to completely unplug for more than one day. I think I will try to do more days maybe now the summer is coming. I will let you know.

All the jobs I’ve had

What jobs have you had?

Wow I’ve had many jobs , my first one was I worked at McDonald’s. I was so shy as a teenager and went there to learn how to be more outgoing. Well to work there you can’t be shy. It was so hard for me at the beginning but I learned to speak up and we used to run competitions during lunch and dinner rushes. I made many friends and it helped me make money for college.

I has a babysitting job and then went into Early Childhood Education. From there I worked in an infant/toddler daycare. It taught me a lot of skills and I had a chance to go to Ottawa and go back to school. I got my diploma there. That was amazing. I loved the daycares I did my practicums in. One of them was a head start program. Wow that was eye opening but my professor told me that the time the children come , make it the best time for them. I taught them how to play with toys and it became a place that helped shaped me into who I am today.

I came back from Ottawa and worked in a preschool in a rough area of town and I worked with teens mom’s. I worked at the University daycare and loved it there. Then I worked a one on one for a boy who had a brain injury. That was an amazing job I got to learn so many skills that has helped me in the job I have today.

Lastly I work in the school district as an Early Childhood Educator working in Kindergarten and Grade 1. It’s challenging but I love it and the skills I’ve learned from all those jobs and my life experience, they have helped me be the best educator that I am today. ❤️

Missing my dad

Who would you like to talk to soon?

I’m really missing my dad and wish that I could sit and chat with him one more time. I miss our chats, our laughs, being able to have coffee with him and people watch. He and I could chat about everything. He often gave me the best advice as to what I was supposed to do with issues. I miss that a lot.

We used to walk on the beach right near this house. My dad loved to pick up rocks and give them to me. He loved watching the people, especially the children in the beach. He knew every inch of that beach. 🐚🪸

Oh how I wish we could walk and talk one more time. In heaven we will be able to do that everyday. I love and miss you very much. ❤️

Different collections

Do you have any collections?

I have a snow globe collection which I’ve been collecting for many years now. They are part of a snowman collection that I have with different figurines. All the snow globes they play music.

I also have a collection of Dvd’s of different shows I love.

I have a collection of magnets from all the States I’ve been too which is a lot. I’ve been to 29 states.

Lastly I have mini vases from all over the world.

One finger and a toe

Have you ever broken a bone?

I’ve broken the tip of  my ring finger on my right hand 3 times. The first time I broke it I was in Ottawa coming back from school. I stepped on a piece of ice and fell and landed on my finger as I fell.

The second time I broke the tip was at a dog training class and my golden retriever saw someone she knew she was super excited and ran over to her. My finger was wrapped in the dog leash and we so hard a snap and it broke again.

The third time the tip broke again my fingers were in the dog leash and it broke again. Apparently the surgeon I went to see said that the biggest thing they see in broken fingers is dog leashes. Now it’s super crooked because I never got surgery on any of the breaks but it is painful.

I also broke my toe when I first got married and there was a chair outside the bathroom and one night I banded my toe on it. I heard a crack.

   The Best sacrifice

What sacrifices have you made in life?

I’ve made many sacrifices in my life. One of the ones I made was when I first got married, I always wanted children of my own and every year that went by and I still had no children.

One day I felt God give me surreal peace about this and my husband had been married before and had 3 amazing children that I loved very much. I realized that I didn’t want them to feel like my husband and I had replaced them with children of our own. Ever since God gave me that peace I was good with it.

I’m so proud of my stepchildren who now are all adults. It was the best sacrifice I could ever make in my life. They have turned out to be amazing adults. ❤️

      Gratitude

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

Every morning before I get to school I think of 3 things that I’m so grateful for that day. I do it when I’m driving to work. I love it because it sets my day up for success. It’s a simple task but one that is small but significant.

Sometimes it’s one thing the same as the previous day but I try to do different ones. There is so much to be thankful for.
